What’s different about our Angel Group?

We’re all alumni of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology as well as accredited investors. So, as you might deduce, we’re deep, qualified leaders in our professions. Our expertise includes engineering and science, but also includes business, finance, US Federal Government, and entrepreneurship.

We work together as a team who selects the start-ups, such as yours, to pitch. We organize the pitch events directly using Zoom. Collaboratively perform our due diligence with you. We are a very engaged group.

We are also part of a larger network of regional MIT Alumni Angel groups who invite each other to our sessions and follow-up due diligence sessions. As such, we welcome applicants from the DC-Maryland-Virginia region as well as those from across the USA.

We bring expertise and connections to those start-ups who decide to become engaged with you. We’ll also invite you to special “Fun & Knowledge” social events. We value our portfolio firms.

What you can expect after you apply.

We’ll keep you updated along the process. Prior to us selecting the start-ups to present, we’ll reach out to you about several topics 1) are you still interested and available on our pitch date, 2) are you in a phase to be ready to leverage a pitch (investor ready?), and 3) do you have any significant updates?

Assuming you’re selected to present, we’ll provide you with background for you to be most successful. Your pitch will be online (Zoom).

After your presentation, those Angels interested will meet with you at a pre-scheduled day and time for a deeper dive exploratory session. Additional due diligence sessions will follow. From that, interested Angels will formally execute paperwork with you.
